Maltese Cross Journal Made from Repurposed Bunker Gear, Notebook, Personal Diary, Firefighter Gift, T15
Our newest product, just in time for Christmas!
I am so excited to partner with DragonForgeBindery for this Maltese Cross journal. This handmade Firefighter journal is made using decommissioned fire gear. The journal you will receive is similar to the one pictured, but because I am repurposing used gear each journal will be totally unique and may show smoke and wear stains. As a firefighter I understand first hand the sacrifices and bravery of the men and women who run into danger every day. The scars on the gear used for the cover of these journals is a testament to their courage and mirrors the scars that they, and their families, carry on behalf of communities everywhere.
This journal features the Maltese Cross which is the universal symbol for firefighters across the US. This symbol originated with the Knights of Malta who were essentially the first known first responders. This symbol became synonymous with healers on the battlefield and has continued to be used as an identifier for them to this day.
